Terms of Service — Kaamwala Nepal
The terms behind every booking
What you're agreeing to when you book a service, work as a Professional, or otherwise use the Platform — plain terms, no fine-print surprises.
Last updated September 14, 2026
- Prices are shown before you confirm a booking — no hidden charges.
- Professionals are independent — Kaamwala connects, it doesn't employ them.
- These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of kaamwala.com.np and its related apps (the "Platform"), operated by Kaamwala Nepal ("Kaamwala," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, booking a service, or registering as a Professional, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Platform.
Before you publish this: this is a general-purpose starting point based on how the Platform works today — have it reviewed by a Nepal-qualified lawyer before publishing, particularly the sections on liability, cancellations/refunds, and dispute resolution. If you separately use a signed Service Provider Agreement during Professional onboarding, make sure the two documents don't contradict each other.
Accepting these terms
By using the Platform in any way — browsing, creating an account, booking a service, or accepting a job as a Professional — you confirm that you've read, understood, and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you're using the Platform on behalf of a business, you confirm you have the authority to bind that business to these Terms.
What the Platform is
Kaamwala is a marketplace that connects customers who need variety of services with independent Professionals who provide them. We are not a staffing agency, and Professionals are not our employees — they are independent third parties who use the Platform to find work.
Kaamwala does not itself perform any service. We're responsible for operating the Platform — matching, booking, payment processing, and support — not for the manner in which a Professional carries out a job. Section 9 explains what this means for liability.
Accounts & eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You must provide accurate, current information, and keep your login credentials confidential.
- You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
- One person or business may not maintain more than one active customer account without our permission.
- We may ask you to verify your identity, phone number, or email at any time.
If you're booking a service
- You agree to provide accurate details about the service you need, including a correct address and any access instructions.
- You agree to be reasonably available at the agreed time, or to reschedule with reasonable notice.
- You agree to treat the assigned Professional respectfully and to provide a safe environment for the work to be carried out.
- You're responsible for reviewing the price and scope shown before confirming a booking.
- Disputes about the quality of a completed service should be raised through the Platform's support channel as soon as possible, so we can help mediate with the Professional.
If you're a Professional
- You confirm that the skills, certifications, and identity documents you submit for verification are genuine and up to date.
- You are an independent contractor, not an employee of Kaamwala — you set your own availability and are free to work with other platforms or clients.
- You are responsible for your own taxes, licenses, insurance, and compliance with applicable law.
- You agree to carry out accepted bookings professionally, safely, and within the scope agreed with the customer.
- If you've signed a separate Service Provider Agreement during onboarding, its terms apply alongside these Terms for anything specific to your work as a Professional.
- Kaamwala may suspend or deactivate a Professional profile that receives repeated, credible complaints, pending review.
Pricing & payments
Prices for a service are shown before you confirm a booking. Payments are processed through our third-party payment partners; Kaamwala does not store full card or wallet credentials on its own servers. Kaamwala may retain a service fee or commission from the amount paid, as disclosed at the time of booking or onboarding.
TODO: add your specific fee structure, accepted payment methods (e.g., eSewa, Khalti, cash on completion), and invoicing details here.
Cancellations & refunds
Either a customer or a Professional may cancel a confirmed booking. Cancelling with reasonable notice is always preferred, and repeated late cancellations may affect your ability to book or accept jobs in future.
TODO: specify your actual cancellation window, any cancellation fee, and refund timeline/method here — this section is left general on purpose since these rules vary by service type.
Reviews & conduct
- Reviews and ratings must reflect a genuine experience with a booking — fake, retaliatory, or paid-for reviews are not allowed.
- You agree not to harass, threaten, or discriminate against another user of the Platform.
- You agree not to try to route a booking off-Platform to avoid Kaamwala's fees, once a match has been made through Kaamwala.
- We may remove content or restrict an account that violates these rules.
Liability & disclaimers
The Platform is provided "as is." Kaamwala works to verify Professionals and facilitate safe bookings, but we don't guarantee that every service will meet your expectations, or that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Because Professionals are independent contractors and not Kaamwala employees, Kaamwala is not liable for the acts, omissions, or quality of work of a Professional, except where the law does not allow this limitation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kaamwala's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Platform is limited to the amount you paid for the specific booking giving rise to the claim.
TODO: this is a general framework — have a lawyer confirm the exact limitation-of-liability language holds up under Nepali contract and consumer-protection law, especially around injury or property damage during a service visit.
Suspension & termination
You may stop using the Platform and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, provide false information, or engage in behavior that harms other users or the Platform. Where possible, we'll tell you why. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including liability, disputes, and outstanding payments — continue to apply after your account is closed.
Disputes & governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. If a dispute arises between you and Kaamwala, we encourage you to first contact us so we can try to resolve it directly. Disputes between a customer and a Professional about the service itself should also be raised with our support team, who can help mediate, though Kaamwala is not a party to the agreement between customer and Professional.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as our services or legal requirements change. We'll post the revised version here with a new "last updated" date, and give additional notice — in-app or by email — for significant changes. Continuing to use the Platform after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
